About EMI Providers

An Electronic Money Institution (EMI) is a licensed financial provider that allows you to send, receive, and hold money digitally through an app or online platform.

EMIs provide access to standard bank transfer services, including SEPA transfers.

Many EMI providers:

  • Support international customers, subject to eligibility

  • Allow currency conversion to euros (EUR), if your local currency is different

  • May offer competitive transfer fees compared to some traditional banks

Examples of EMI providers include:

  • Revolut

  • Wise

  • N26

Availability and services depend on your location and the provider’s terms.

Setting Up an EMI Account

If you do not already have an EMI account:

  1. Choose a licensed EMI provider (e.g., Revolut, Wise, N26)

  2. Download the provider’s mobile app or register on their website

  3. Complete identity verification (typically requires ID and proof of address)

  4. Activate your account and ensure you can send euro (EUR) transfers

Account approval times vary depending on the provider.

Making a Transfer from Your EMI Account

Once your Sportmarket bank transfer details are available:

  1. Open your EMI app

  2. Start a new bank transfer

  3. Enter the bank details exactly as provided by Sportmarket

  4. Use your Sportmarket username as the payment reference

  5. Confirm the transfer

After the transfer is submitted, you will receive confirmation from your EMI provider.

Processing times may vary depending on your provider, but transfers are typically completed within standard banking timeframes (1-3 business days).
